Yoga Infused Therapy

Combining talk therapy with yoga

Yoga is not about your shape, size, athletic ability, age, weight or flexibility. It’s about meeting yourself where you are now right now. Combining yoga with therapy is an opportunity to experience the strong connection between the mind and the body. Yoga helps us to become more psychologically flexible and more connected to who we are. Sometimes it can be hard to find the words to describe or talk about how you’re feeling. Yoga can help you to feel more relaxed and calm, and in doing so clarify your thoughts and feelings in a more considered way.

How does it work?

Your session will be divided into two parts. We will start with settling into the body (coming home to yourself) using yoga which will be designed around your unique physical ability and attuned to your mental wellbeing needs. The latter part of the session will be talking therapy and exploring what may have come up for you during your yoga practice. This holistic approach can be a powerful way of improving both your physical understanding of yourself and a means of  increasing your mental flexibility.

A combined yoga and talking approach might be right for you if:

  • The thought of sitting in a counselling room for a full session feels daunting.
  • You find it difficult to express your thoughts and feelings to yourself or others.
  • You feel like if you don’t take action you are on a path leading towards burnout.
  • You are judgemental of yourself and how you feel others perceive you.
  • You are struggling with low self esteem or self confidence.
  • You are living with stress and anxiety that you can’t seem to shake.
  • You have a curious mind and heart and want to get to know yourself better.
