Resources for coping with anxiety, depression and more

Video Resources - Presented in less than 2 minutes

Life presents us all with challenges that can be hard to cope with. It can be hard to think clearly when this happens. This short presentation has 5 powerful strategies to help you cope and feel more in control.

Before you press the play button take a moment to inhale deeply and exhale. Thank you for watching.

Calming Anxiety - Flower Breathing Technique

The beauty of this simple exercise it that you are engaging both your imagination and your breath.

To get the most benefit from the  video answer the questions below before watching.
What is your favourite flower? Can you imagine breathing in its fragrance? What colour is it? Are the petals open or partially budded?
Now focus on a dandelion. Imagine how big it is. Does it have an unusual colour?

How to use Square Breathing to Help Calm Anxiety

Square breathing, is a technique that’s used by the Navy SEALs to restore a sense of calm. You can use it too.

It’s a quick and easy technique to learn and works by slowing your breathing to a more relaxed rhythm. This in turn helps to calm your nervous system and decrease feelings of stress and anxiety.

Before you watch the presentation imagine that you're going to breathe from one point of a square … to the next … and then the next, until you’ve worked your way around the square.
